Turning to Europe. British home secretary Sajid Javid says that the country will have a good set of proposals on Brexit policy ready for a meeting of European Union leaders. Javid also said Sunday that he expects a positive response from Brussels this month. Javid says that the proposals would be in line with previous statements by British Prime Minister Theresa May. The home secretary also said that a promised white paper policy document would be published in advance of the summit.

SAJID JAVID UK HOME SECRETARY "I am absolutely confident that as we get to the June council meeting that the prime minister will have a good set of proposals and our colleagues in York will be spent positively. I think that we'll be focused on what the prime minister has already set out in broad terms in her Mansion House speech and before that. And there will be a white paper from the government before that which I think will help the debate."
