Russia Ex-Spy Poisoning Case: Moscow wants international presence in investigation
[]
Moving on to the poisoning of a Russian ex-spy in England now. The Russian Ambassador to the UK says countries that voted against Russia's call for a joint investigation into, were voting "against transparency". Yakovenko also said countries which abstained from voting were "under very strong pressure", but taking what he called an "honest position".
ALEXANDER YAKOVENKO RUSSIAN AMBASSADOR TO UK "We wanted full cooperation on the British side. We wanted to see, you know, the evidence. We want to have access, but not only (for) Russia. We believe that it should be available for the whole world. And we put this decision to vote, a so-called roll call when everybody is named. And I'll tell you that was quite interesting results. Fifteen countries, 15, voted against that decision. So basically they voted against transparency, they voted against the access to the full and fair information. And this is the, mostly this is the countries of the EU and NATO."
