The PyeongChang Winter Olympics have awarded five gold medals in biathlon, cross-country skiing, speedskating, short-track speedskating and ski jumping on Saturday.
Charlotte Kalla of Sweden won the first gold medal up for grabs at the PyeongChang Winter Olympics, in the women’s 15km skiathlon cross-country in the afternoon. Laura Dahlmeier grabbed Germany's first gold later, snatching victory in the women's biathlon sprint. Germany’s Andreas Wellinger won the title of Men's Normal Hill Individual in Ski Jumping. Carlijn Achtereekte produced the best race of her life to seize the Olympic title and lead a Dutch sweep in the women's 3,000m speed skating event. Meanwhile, the hometown short-track speed skater Lim Hyo-jun won South Korea's first gold medal of men's 1,500m.

Chinese short-track speed skater Han Tianyu finished first in the Group B of men's 1,500m’s final, while both Wu Dajing and Xu Hongzhi were crashing out of 1,500m semi-finals.
In addition, in semi-final two of women's 3,000m relay, China's team cruised to the finish with a time of 4:05.315, setting a new Olympic record of the event. Also, a team made up of players of Fan Kexin, Qu Chunyu and Han Yutong have also passed the women’s 500m qualification last night.
