China to help Laos upgrade its national TV channel

China has signed an agreement with Laos in Vientiane, which is tasked to help the Southeast Asian country upgrade its national television channel, multiple Chinese media outlets reported on Friday.

The project will be conducted by China’s Radio, Film & TV Design and Research Institute and Beijing Jingjing Dafang Engineering Construction Supervision Company. 
It is expected to raise the production quality of Lao National Television’s TV programs and provide technical support for better cultural communication between China and Laos.

According to the agreement, the project will include the upgrade of old studio, editing system and transmission and conversion system. At the same time, the provision of high-definition (HD) broadcasting vehicles and portable transmission equipment will be provided as well. 
When the project is completed, Lao National Television will have the capability to produce more HD TV programs and share further high-quality TV programs with increased foreign countries.
