2018 marks the 40th anniversary of the start of reform and opening up, the policy that created China’s growth miracle. Senior Chinese financial official Liu He said at Davos on Wednesday that the country will celebrate this milestone by rolling out new reforms, primarily in four areas: greater access to the financial sector; adopting a “negative list” approach in many manufacturing sectors, whereby practices are explicitly banned for clarity; heightening protection of intellectual property rights, and increasing imports.
