The Turkish Armed Forces released a video footage on Saturday, purporting to show a successful strike of a tunnel in the Kurdish-controlled city of Afrin in northern Syria. The tunnel was reportedly used to store ammunition. Turkish planes started bombing Kurdish targets in Afrin on Saturday, as President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced the beginning of a ground operation against Kurdish fighters who have been Washington's key ally in the war on ISIL in Syria.
