China-Bolivia Ties: Xi Jinping meets Bolivian President Morales

President Xi Jinping and Bolivian President Juan Evo Morales Ayma on Tuesday signed a joint communique establishing a strategic partnership with one another. Both leaders hope this new agreement will promote greater bilateral relations. Our Reporter Su Yuting has more.
Bolivian President's fourth visit to China brought with it a new beginning.
President Xi Jinping has welcomed him at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing. The two sides agreed to establish strategic partnership between the two countries.
President Xi Jinping spoke highly of Morales's efforts in leading Bolivia to a new stage of stable development.
Morales said Bolivia-China relations have progressed consistently over the past 33 years under the framework of friendship, solidarity, cooperation and respect, and the two countries have made important steps in creating benefits for the peoples of the two countries.
The two Presidents also signed a joint communique and witnessed the signing of several cooperation documents.
Bolivia is an important partner of China's in the Latin American region. Officials said China-Bolivia ties have developed well and establishing a strategic partnership is aimed at boosting political, economic and cultural cooperation and multilateral coordination in international affairs.

Secondly, they look to expand practical cooperation under the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative. This includes jointly establishing a new cooperative model with the integration of the investment, trade and service sectors, as well as pursuing trade balance with the development of various projects like agriculture, manufacturing, renewable energy, and infrastructure. Thirdly, they aim to enhance cooperation in sectors like culture, education, sports, media, tourism and cultural heritage preservation to deepen people-to-people exchanges. Finally, they hope to promote multilateral coordination under the framework of the United Nations on sustainable development and climate change, in order to safeguard the rights of developing countries. This will include constructing a new-type of international relationship and the building of a common community with a shared future for mankind."
