Magnitude 7.0 earthquake strikes off New Caledonia

An earthquake with a magnitude of 7.0 struck near New Caledonia in the South Pacific Ocean on Tuesday, the United States Geological Survey reported.
The quake hit at a depth of 15 km, the agency said.
There was no immediate tsunami warning issued.
