Chinese President Xi Jinping urged all countries to build a new type of international relations based on win-win cooperation and create a community of shared future for mankind.
Xi made the remarks on Tuesday at the opening ceremony of the Boao Forum for Asia annual conference, currently underway in south China's Hainan Province.
Xi defined the community as open, inclusive and balanced, with enduring peace, universal security and common prosperity for all mankind.
Xi called on efforts to promote dialogue, cooperation and sustainable development, and to firmly uphold international order under the UN Charter.
He called for greater global governance.
The problems facing economic globalization need to be tackled with global measures, Xi said, adding that the benefits of prosperity should be delivered to all people around the world.
The president also urged all countries to abandon the Cold War mindset.
He noted that peace, cooperation and connectivity are the current global trend, maintaining that countries should abandon the Cold War mentality and zero-sum game for a win-win result.
