China and Saudi Arabia look to press ahead with new agreements to strengthen their ties. Chinese Vice-Premier Han Zheng also met with Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud in Beijing Friday. The two co-chaired the third meeting of the China-Saudi Arabia high-level joint committee. CGTN's Su Yuting has more.
In China for a two day visit, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman Al Saud looks to strengthen existing agreements and press ahead with new ones. Chinese Vice Premier Han Zheng meets with him, saying the China-Saudi Arabia High-Level joint Committee remains an important platform for cooperation.
Han's four-point proposal calls for the two sides to deepen political mutual trust, reinforce synergies between respective development strategies, boost cooperation in anti-terrorism and law enforcement, and enhance cultural and people-to-people exchanges.
Al Saud, who also serves as Saudi Arabia's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, says the comprehensive strategic partnership with China holds great importance for both nations. He says Saudi Arabia will stick to a 'One-China' policy to firmly support China's efforts in protecting national sovereignty, peace and security. Han and Al Saud signed new documents at this third meeting of the China-Saudi Arabia High-Level Joint Committee. They also witnessed the signing of various cooperative agreements in politics, marine transportation, production capacity, energy and finance.
