Erdogan calls demand to close military base in Qatar ‘disrespectful’

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on Sunday he backed Qatar's response to the 13 demands issued by Arab states, which include closing the Al Jazeera satellite television network and curbing relations with Iran.
He also called the demand to close a Turkish military base in Qatar "disrespectful".
Erdogan said Turkey has offered to set up military bases in both Saudi Arabia and Qatar, but Riyadh had not responded. Saudi state media however reported a week ago that the kingdom had rejected Turkey's offer of establishing a base.
