Australia parliament passes same-sex marriage bill

The Australian Parliament passed a bill legalizing same-sex marriage on Thursday, after the Senate passed the same legislation last week 43 votes to 12.
"What a day for love, for quality, for respect! Australia has done it," Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull told the House.
The law is expected to take effect in about a month.
