Turning now to Team China's performance at the Winter Olympics in PyeongChang. Earlier this morning, Chinese snowboarder Liu Jiayu grabbed her first-ever Olympic medal, and also China's first medal of the Games.
The 25-year-old Liu who has competed at three Olympics, earned 89-point-75 points in her second run of three, to take the silver medal in the women's halfpipe event. Her team-mate Cai Xuetong finished fifth with a score of 76-point-5 in her last run. In the women's 5-hundred-meter short-track speed skating semifinal tonight, China's Fan Kexin was eliminated and failed to enter the final.
