The Chairperson of the African Union (AU) Commission Moussa Faki Mahamat will pay an official visit to China from February 7 to 9, Chinese Foreign Ministry announced on Monday.
Faki will meet with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi and they will hold the seventh China-AU strategic dialogue together. They will exchange views on bilateral relations as well as international and regional issues of common concerns, the spokesperson of Chinese Foreign Ministry Geng Shuang said during a regular press briefing.
This is Faki's first visit to China since he was elected as the chairperson of AU Commission. Faki's visit will enhance mutual political trust and deepen cooperation in various fields to further promote China's relations with the African Union, Geng Said.
