Revising China's Constitution: Legislature passes draft amendment to Constitution

The draft revision of the Constitution passed by lawmakers contains twenty-one amendments. The new Constitution now includes Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era and the Scientific Outlook on Development. It calls for coordinated development of material, political, cultural, social and ecological factors to achieve national rejuvenation.  
To develop diplomatic relations, the country promotes to build "a community with a shared future for humanity". It underscores that the Party's leadership is the defining feature of socialism with Chinese characteristics. It has also dropped the expression that the president and vice president of China "shall serve no more than two consecutive terms". A Supervisory Commission is listed as a new state organ. The upgraded anti-graft system expands the scope of inspection. It covers all public servants who exercise public power.
