US Navy and Marine Corps suspended their search and rescue operations for the three service members who have been missing since a "mishap" off the east coast of Australia with an MV-22 aircraft on Saturday, the military said in a statement on Sunday.
According to the Marine Corps, they have shifted operations to recovery efforts in coordination with the Australian Defense Force, and the families of the missing have been notified.
Twenty-three of the 26 personnel aboard the aircraft were rescued, the Marine Corps said.
