Zhao Yanhao of Zhejiang Guangsha won the trophy of the Most Valuable Player of the 2017-2018 season CBA All-Star Rookie Challenge in Shenzhen as he scored a match-high 14 points in the Southern-Northern Rookies' 103-95 victory over the Tsinghua-Peking University team.
The festivities get underway with Rising Stars teams featuring some of the league's top young players. A pair of Rising Stars teams featuring some of the league's top young players would face two squads of competitors from Peking and Chinese University Basketball Association members Peking and Tsinghua. Each of the four sides would play for one half, with their efforts contributing to a combined final score.
Beijing's Qiu Tian helped the pros regain the lead, and the first Q ends 24-23 Rising Stars. The South took on Tsinghua University in the second, with Shenzhen's Bai Haotian giving the pros a lead of one.

Guangsha's Zhao Yanhao sunk a trey to push their cushion. The South put the Rising Stars in front 57-46 at the half.
The North returned to face Tsinghua in the third. Qingdao's Ding Haoran dunked to put the pros up a dozen. Shandong's Zhang Hui later made it 21 from beyond the arc.
Peking would not be able to come back against the South in the fourth. The Rising Stars beat the CUBA squad by eight, with Zhao named MVP.
