22nd session of UNWTO General Assembly opens in Chengdu

The 22nd session of the UN World Tourism Organization General Assembly has opened in China's southwestern city of Chengdu. 
Representatives from more than 100 countries will discuss issues such as the Belt and Road Initiative as well as tourism cooperation, poverty eradication, and smart tourism. 
This event also sees the formation of the World Tourism Alliance, initiated by China. It includes tourism associations, enterprises, formal officials and think tanks.
