Three people were killed and more than 20 injured on Friday evening when a bus mounted a pavement, smashed through railings and hit a building's canopy in Sham Shui Po, one of Hong Kong’s busiest district.
A middle-aged woman died at the scene and two men succumbed to injuries later in hospital.
Local media reported that people had been crushed under the bus and passengers remained trapped on the upper deck as rescue work was still ongoing.
The incident took place at around 6:39 p.m. at the junction of Yen Chow Street and Cheung Sha Wan Road.
The cause of the incident is under investigation.
