We move to high school basketball now, where the boys and girls teams from the Texas town of Splendora, feature six sets of twins. That has left their opponents doing double takes, as they try to avoid doppleganger defeats. Damion Jones takes us to the court where these splitting-image students can be found, when they're not hitting the books.
Splendora High School's basketball line-ups are giving some rivals a case of double vision, especially with identical twin point guards Jannet and Jaquelin Reyes, both tending to know exactly what each other wants to do in games.
JANNET & JACQUELIN REYES BASKETBALL TWINS "We each have, like, our better thing we do on the court. We just give each other a look and we know what we are doing."
Another set of lookalike sisters, Zoe and Maci Surber, are both fixtures in the girls' team's backcourt as well. On the boys' side, brothers Lucas and Ian Ferrari Johnson play different positions, as one is a guard and the other a forward, but consider their talent levels to be even.
LUCAS & IAN FERRARI JOHNSON BASKETBALL TWINS "We consider ourselves the same."
Journalist: "Really? Equally ranked?"
"Yes, ma'am."
Jordan and Adam Carter are fraternal twins, and both plan to go to college, but say they will probably attend different universities, inserting a break into their long-running debate.
JORDAN & ADAM CARTER BASKETBALL TWINS Adam: "I would say I am better."
Jordan: "I would say I was. I am, but, we're going to argue."
And incredibly, two members of the coaching staff on this campus in Southeast Texas are fathers of twins as well, including the dad of Ryan and Erin Kendall.
RYAN & ERIN KENDALL BASKETBALL TWINS Ryan: "We've never gone to school with this many twins."
Erin: "It's crazy."
While there are other twins who don't play basketball attending Splendora, the half-dozen sets on the hardwood, definitely stand out. And the tradition is expected to continue, as sibling pairs from the local middle school are already planning to join the program, next season. DJ, CGTN.
