The leader of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, Kim Jong Un, has hosted a welcome dinner for envoys sent by South Korean President Moon Jae-in on Monday. The South Korean officials are on a two-day visit to broker talks between the United States and the DPRK. Both the DPRK and the US have expressed a willingness to engage in talks, but Washington wants Pyongyang to commit to getting rid of its nuclear weapons first. Pyongyang says it will not sit with Washington under any preconditions.
