China’s development is benefitting the world in return, and the country’s openness is bringing the world together – that’s the response from some foreign analysts to Xi Jinping's report on the opening session of the 19th CPC National Congress.
Egyptian researcher Hussein Ismail said China has consistently adhered to the path of peaceful development, and that China has developed a new cooperation model with the implementation of its Belt and Road Initiative.
“General Secretary Xi’s report emphasized that China has always pursued a policy of peaceful development and promoted the construction of a human destiny together. China’s efforts make developing countries more interactive,” said Ismail.
Xi did say in his report that China’s doors will never shut, but will open up more and more instead. That’s because, as Xi put it, openness will drive the country forward and closed doors could only drag the country behind.
Also, Xi mentioned that “sharing” and “mutually beneficial” are the principles when going global and working with other countries, and that China will push global economy on a path that’s more inclusive and balanced.
That’s why Ismail believes that China’s growth also means more opportunities for others.
Khairy Tourk, business professor at the Illinois Institute of Technology, agreed that China’s rise has been peaceful and is sharing its fruits of modernization with the world.
“Xi’s speech was an eyeopener; it presents a roadmap of cooperation not only for China but to the whole world,” Tourk said.
Xi said in his speech that China will take the initiative when pushing forward globalization, and will always be the contributor of the world's economy, which maintains international orders at the same time.
According to Tourk, China’s strong will to step further onto the global stage is a very positive step, especially when the world is seeing protectionist measures adopted by many nations.
