Hong Kong anniversary: Protest launched amid celebration events

A protest took place in Hong Kong on Monday, with a dozen separatists staging the activity in the early morning.
Student demonstrators draped a black cloth over a sculpture symbolizing Hong Kong’s return to China as a message that they refuse to recognize the "One Country, Two Systems" policy.
Security guards tried to stop them from climbing up the famous tourist attraction, and police were called later and returned the sculpture to its original appearance. The protest lasted 15 minutes.
In an interview with CGTN, Robert Chow Yung, spokesman for the Alliance of Peace and Democracy, explained why some Hong Kong citizens, especially youngsters, are still seeking Hong Kong independence 20 years after the handover.
