China-Bolivia Ties: FMs meet in preparation for Bolivian president's state visit

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi has met with his Bolivian counterpart in Beijing to discuss Bolivian President Evo Morales's state visit to China next month. During the meeting Wang stressed that the nature of the two countries' bilateral ties is a south-south coopeartion, and he hopes such relations reach new heights as a result of President Morales's visit. CGTN's Ren Xueqian reports.
The Foreign Ministers of China and Bolivia met this January during a forum between China and Latin American and Caribbean states. The two officials were together again, this time in the Chinese capital Beijing to further talks on diplomatic ties and cooperation.
WANG YI CHINESE FOREIGN MINISTER "Your visit this time comes with the great task of making preparations for the Bolivian President's state visit to China in the near future. Our countries have maintained good relations, and I hope President Evo Morales's visit will strengthen such relations by welcoming a new beginning as well as new opportunities for our bilateral ties going forward."
News of President Morales's latest planned state visit came last year and it will become the President's 4th visit to China since he came to power in 2006. As a frequent visitor to China himself, the Bolivian Foreign Minister said this visit will open more opportunities with China and deepen trade between the two sides.
FERNANDO HUANACUNI MAMANI BOLIVIAN FOREIGN MINISTER "China and Bolivia share a great prospect for further cooperation and our bilateral relations will elevate to a strategic one during President Morales's visit. For us, this will not only increase our cooperation in trade, but will also help us improve the geopolitical condition in the region."
China is Bolivia's top trade partner, with a growing presence in its infrastructure, transportation, telecommunications and energy, and aerospace developments. With both sides signaling to welcome new diplomatic opportunities, ties between the two countries will likely deepen in the future. RXQ, CGTN, BJ.
