Qatar's emir calls for dialogue on basis of respect for sovereignty

The United Arab Emirates has urged Qatar to change its policies to allow for a dialogue to take place.
The UAE is one of four Arab countries to have imposed sanctions on Doha. Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Bahrain and Egypt cut their economic and diplomatic ties with Qatar last month, over allegations of Doha supporting terrorism. Doha denied all accusations.
The UAE's remarks come after Qatar's emir called for a dialogue to resolve the crisis on Friday. The emir stressed that the talks should be based on respect for national sovereignty.
On the same day, US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson urged Arab states to lift their sanctions on Doha. Tillerson said he was satisfied with Qatar's plan to combat terrorist financing. The US secretary of state was in the region last week in a bid to end the crisis.
