Photos that captured a bailiff breastfeeding a crying toddler of a defendant on the court premises have recently touched the hearts of many netizens.

On Saturday morning, the defendant surnamed Li was undergoing a court trial for fund-raising fraud, embezzlement and concealing the illegal proceeds of crime in Jinzhong Intermediate People's court in north China’s Shanxi Province. During the trial, her 4-month-old baby suddenly burst into tears.

Hao Lina, a bailiff at the scene, moved by the wailing child found a secluded place and breastfed the child, who soon fell asleep in the arms of the “temporary mother."

The beautiful moment moved the child's parents to tears. Before sentencing, Li wept, repeatedly repenting her sins.

"As a mother, I knew how worried Li was even though she was a defendant. So I tried my best to soothe the baby. I believe that when something like that happens, every mother will do the same," Hao told Shanxi Evening News.
