Visions for the Future: Underground tunnel in operation to smooth transport

To make it easier to get around the Boao Forum, an underground tunnel has opened in Hainan Province.
LI JIANFANG, VICE MANAGER BOAO UNDERGROUND TUNNEL CHINA RAILWAY CONSTRUCTION CORPORATION "The tunnel cuts commute time between the founding site of the BFA and its international conference center from 25 minutes to 3 minutes."
The China Railway Construction Corporation began work on it last year. The two-way tunnel is just under one-and-a-half kilometers long and goes under the Wanquan River. The project presented major challenges digging beneath the river but workers finished the project without any major safety incidents.
