At the China Global Television Network (CGTN) Global Media Summit and the Global Video Media Forum 2017 held in Sanya City, south China’s Hainan province, CGTN Controller Jiang Heping delivered a speech, raising up the future of media industry in China.
He said many are debating over whether content or technology should be the king in the media, while others put accessibility above everything else. For Jiang, integrating the three would be the best approach. Using the Chinese character for “king,” Jiang said “the three horizontal bars represent content, technology and accessibility, which are made a whole by the vertical pillar — that is integration. In the media today, only integration can be the king.”
Jiang also introduced to the delegates at the summit that CGTN is committed to the five I's, namely Innovative, Invigorated, Interconnected, Inclusive and Interactive.
The summit covered topics such as how to accelerate and deepen the integrative development of conventional and emerging media, make full use of new technologies and applications to innovate the approaches of media dissemination, and how to deal with the challenges commonly faced by the media around the world.
