Abdulkadir Masharipov, the gunman who carried out a deadly shooting at a nightclub in Istanbul on New Year's Day and killed 39 people, has been caught in an apartment in Istanbul's Esenyurt district during a police operation. Masharipov was found with his four-year-old son, and four other adults. ISIL had said the attack was a form of revenge for Turkish military involvement in Syria. CGTN’s Natalie Carney has more from Istanbul.
