China on Friday launched its first seismo-electromagnetic satellite to study seismic precursors from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in northwest China’s Gansu Province, along with other commercial satellites. Known as Zhangheng-1, the satellite is named after a renowned scholar of the East Han Dynasty (25-220 AD).
