Mexico was rattled by two massive earthquakes this month. The first, on September 7, had a magnitude of 8.2 and was the strongest the country has seen in a century. It killed nearly 100 people, occurring on the southern Mexican coast near the state of Chiapas. With a magnitude of 7.1, the second quake hit around 160 kilometers from the Mexican capital, Mexico City, on September 19. It has killed around 230 people including 30 students who died in a school building collapse. Rescuers are still searching for children and adults buried in the rubble.
