At least 49 killed,100 injured after train collision in Egypt

At least 49 people have been killed and 100 others were injured after two trains collided in the Egyptian coastal city of Alexandria on Friday, Egypt's health ministry said in a statement.

Egyptian Railways said the collision happened when train No. 13, traveling from Cairo to Alexandria, slammed into the rear carriages of train No. 571 in route from Port Said to Alexandria, local media reported.
President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi ordered an inquiry into the crash.

The reason for the collision is still unclear. But a railroad switching error was the most likely cause, Reuters said, citing a security source.
