China's newly-elected Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress Li Zhanshu took the oath at the fifth plenary session of the National People's Congress at the Great Hall of the People. After the vote, Li pledged allegiance to the country's Constitution.

China's newly-elected Vice President Wang Qishan and newly elected vice chairpersons and secretary-general of the Top Legislature also took the oath after their election.
