In northeast India, heavy rains have killed at least 85 people in the past nine days. Some 1.75 million people have been affected in Assam state, with tens of thousands relocated. Monsoon rains in India regularly cause floods and water-borne diseases.
Elsewhere in the country, officials say floods have killed at least four people in the western state of Gujarat since Saturday morning, amid concern for at least six others still missing following torrential downpours.
Major rail networks and dozens of highways in the state have been interrupted by floods. Power to more than 120 villages has been cut in badly-hit areas.
