Beijing warns US to stop close-in air reconnaissance

A new challenge for China-US relations, as Beijing warned Washington to halt close-in air reconnaissance as this may not be good for the development of bilateral ties.
The Defense Ministry says China closely monitors any US military activity along its coastline and that China’s actions were legal, necessary and professional. Although confrontation remains, cooperation is still the theme of China-US relations.
Meanwhile, a US delegation is currently in China with the aim of enhancing bilateral cooperation. Chinese Vice Premier Wang Yang met Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds in Beijing on Tuesday.  Wang and Reynolds discussed a variety of issues of common concern, including China-US trade ties and agricultural cooperation. The core for two countries is future economic cooperation.
