Meanwhile, the jury panel of the 24th Shanghai TV Festival Magnolia Awards TALKED about what makes a great TV drama, documentary and cartoon. Sun Siqi reports.
The war epic "The Advisors' Alliance", urban drama "The First Half of My Life" and "White Deer Plain" are among the nominees for Magnolia Awards. "White Deer" picked up 10 nominations, including for best TV series, best director and best scriptwriter.
Liu Heping, chairman of the drama award category, said the artistic value of a series determines whether it's worthy of award consideration.

BBC's "Blue Planet Ⅱ" and domestic production "This is Life" are among the nominees for best documentary. Jury member and documentary maker Peng Hui said domestic documentaries excel at recording an individual's life and portraying their joys and struggles.

The Magnolia Awards ceremony will be held June 15th.
