Tajik President Emomali Rahmon arrived in Xiamen on Monday to attend the Dialogue between Emerging Market Economies and Developing Countries on the sidelines of the ninth summit of the BRICS bloc, which includes Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa.
At the invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping, Rahmon will gather with leaders from the five BRICS member states, as well as from Guinea, Egypt, Mexico and Thailand to discuss international cooperation and global governance.
President Rahmon started his state visit to China on August 30. Prior to his arrival in Xiamen, he held talks with president Xi in Beijing and both leaders agreed to establish a comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries.
