Japan's Nikkei extended its gains to a record 15th straight session after the landslide victory of Prime Minister Shinzo Abe’s Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) and its coalition in Sunday’s snap election.
The Nikkei average ended Monday’s trading up 239.01 points to 21,696.65 yen.
This is Nikkei’s longest winning streak since the Tokyo Stock Exchange began to calculate the index in 1950.
