Forest rangers last week found three snow leopard cubs in a tunnel in a nature reserve in Shiqu county, southwest China. Finding three snow leopard cubs at once is rare. As an endangered animal, snow leopards have Class A protected status in China.
Snow leopards were recorded at least 20 times in the area from 2013 to 2017. There are 30 snow leopards living in the protected area at least. Snow leopards dwell on the reserve's snow-capped mountains and bare rock habitats.
