China devoted to developing traditional friendship with DPRK

Chinese President Xi Jinping sent a reply to Kim Jong Un, in response to DPRK leader's message of congratulations at the conclusion of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC).
Foreign Ministry spokesperson Hua Chunying described the messages as a friendly exchange during a press briefing in Beijing on Thursday.
She pointed out that Xi had received many messages of congratulations from leaders of countries and international organizations at the conclusion of the political event.
"China and the DPRK are close neighbors and we have always been devoted to developing the traditional friendship between the two parties and the two countries. It is in the interest of both countries and good for maintaining regional peace and stability," she said.
KCNA, DPRK's state news agency, reported on Thursday that Chinese President Xi had replied to Kim's message, saying he hopes to promote relations.
