China’s Ministry of Commerce has banned DPRK individuals and enterprises from conducting new business in China.
The ministry says in an announcement issued on its official website on Friday that this ban covers new joint venture enterprises, new wholly owned businesses and the expansion of existing entities. Additionally, applications for new or expanded investment in the DPRK by Chinese companies will not be approved. The new measures take effect immediately.
The ministry says the announcement is in line with United Nations Security Council sanctions passed earlier this month.
