The future of air travel, both on earth and beyond, was a lively attraction at Airshow China 2018. 43 countries and regions showed off state-of-the-art air and spacecraft. As CGTN's Sun Ye, shows us, many more partnerships with China are set to take off.
China's biggest airshow, a joint-venture when probing into deep space.
Chang'e 4 lunar probe, set to make the world's first landing on the far side of the moon, carries detectors from Germany and Sweden.
China's Space Station, slated for completion in 2022, promises to be "a home of cooperation", and "a home that is inclusive and open".
ZHAO JIAN, DEPUTY DIRECTOR-GENERAL CHINA NATIONAL SPACE ADMINISTRATION SYSTEM ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT "Also worth noting, our Fengyun meteorological satellites are serving more than 80 countries. And we will continue to share aerospace knowhow with the international community, just as President Xi promised."
DMITRY LOSKUTOV, DIRECTOR DEPARTMENT OF INT'L COOPERATION, RUSSIA STATE SPACE CORP. "The two countries are strategic partners, partnership is also in space. We foresee closer cooperation with China in many areas, from satellite communications systems to engine manufacturing."
Closer bonds in civil aviation are on the way too.
SUN YE ZHUHAI "This widebody jetliner was jointly developed by China and Russia. It's expected to make its maiden flight in 2025."
Easily the star of the airshow, the mock plane shows how the world is preparing for the fast expansion of the civil aviation market, with China expected to add more than 7600 planes in the next 20 years. More Russian aircraft are also set to take flight with China.
With high hopes for even more. SY, CGTN, ZHUHAI.
