A month ago Kyrie Irving surprised basketball fans when the four-time All-Star guard requested to be traded by Cleveland because he no longer wanted to play with LeBron James.
Now it seems like the 25-year-old will get his way as the Cavaliers have reportedly negotiated his move to Boston in exchange for playmaker Isaiah Thomas and others.

Even though relations have been strained between the pair, there’s no question that James respects his soon-to-be ex-teammate. In a message on Twitter, James said “That's the only way to be to the kid! Special talent/guy! Nothing but respect and what a ride it was our 3 years together Young Gode”.

US media have reported the deal which also includes forward Jae Crowder, center Ante Zizic and the Brooklyn Nets' 2018 unprotected first round pick.
Irving was drafted first overall out of Duke University by Cleveland in 2011 which is the only team he's played for. During his time in Ohio, he helped the Cavs win their first and only NBA championship in 2016. Thomas is recovering from a hip injury that saw the 28-year-old miss Boston's final three playoff games last season after averaging 28.9 points per game. The five foot nine guard is rumored to be looking for a trade to ensure he receives a maximum contract, and will be a free agent after next year.
