Looking at China's fiscal data now. The Finance Ministry said Wednesday that fiscal revenues came in at 3.65 trillion yuan in the first two months of this year. That's 15.8 percent higher from a year earlier. Meanwhile, government spending rose 16.7 percent to 2.9 trillion yuan.
Tax incomes from stamps, value-added, consumption and vehicle purchase were among the fastest growing segments. However, the ministry attributed the surge of fiscial revenues to the Spring Festival holiday, and said the increase didn't reflect a broader trend in government revenues or expenditures.
