2019 Shanghai Intl. Film Festival: Iran's 'Castle of Dreams' sweeps Golden Goblet Awards

Curtains are down for the Shanghai International Film Festival. With a star-studded red carpet and the award ceremony for the Golden Goblet Awards, it was Iran's "Castle of Dreams" that swept the accolades with three major prizes. Shen Li was there.
Castle of Dreams was the biggest winner of the night, taking home three major awards including Best Film, Best Director and Best Actor.
REZA MIRKARIMI BEST DIRECTOR "I've been to many other film festivals, but this is the first one with my film crew. We're just thrilled to be honored at the event."
Chinese actor Chang Feng shared Best Actor with Hamed Saberi Behdad from "Castle of Dreams".
The 96-year-old film veteran gave a vivid portrayal of an old soldier longing to return home in Chinese actor Qin Hailu's directorial debut, "The Return".
CHANG FENG BEST ACTOR "At first because of my health issues, I didn't think I could perform in this film. But the script and the character really touched me. And I'm really surprised that it landed me this award. I'm really grateful for it."
Best Animation went to Japanese director Masaaki Yuasa's "Ride Your Wave".
Japanese actor and singer Katayose Ryota received the award on behalf of the crew.
KATAYOSE RYOTA ACTOR/SINGER "Voicing for animation is quite different from singing or acting in films, but it was quite rewarding."
Earlier, an international line-up including UK actor Tom Hiddleston trod the red carpet to the delight of movie enthusiasts.
