Ahead of US President Donald Trump’s state visit to China, CGTN’s reporters sat down with the governors of Tennessee, Alaska and Wyoming, to talk about the trade relations between China and US, and Trump’s upcoming visit to China.
Governor of Tennessee: China is good business sense
“You can’t help but be impressed with the growth of the economy and the growth of GDP over there,” said Governor of Tennessee Bill Haslam. “China is one great opportunity to do that.”
Governor of Alaska: Shifting the trade relationship toward natural gas
“It’s our largest trading partner,” said Governor of Alaska Bill Walker. “We have a long history with China of a trade relationship.”
Governor of Wyoming: Trading ideas, not just commodities
When talking about the trade opportunities between China and the US, Governor of Wyoming Matt Mead acknowledges that during his trips to China, one of the things that’s struck him is “the number of people and the number of opportunities presented for trade with the United States and with individual states.”
