The US has set new criteria for visa applications from six Muslim-majority countries, the Associated Press reported on Thursday.
The move came after the Supreme Court Monday allowed parts of President Donald Trump's travel ban on six nations to go into effect.
Under the new guidelines, all applicants should have "close" family or business ties to the US including having a parent, spouse, child, adult son or daughter, son-in-law, daughter-in-law or sibling in the country, according to the report.
Connections with grandparents, grandchildren, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, brothers-laws and sisters-in-law, fiancees or other extended family members are not considered as close ties.
