Hong Kong raises No.8 signal as Typhoon Khanun edges closer

The Hong Kong Observatory raised the tropical cyclone signal No.8 at 8:40 a.m. on Sunday as Typhoon Khanun skirted south of the city.
As of 11 a.m., a total of 183 flights were delayed and 46 cancelled, according to local news reports.
The Hong Kong Observatory also warned that a high tide in the evening may cause flooding in some low-lying areas.
The No.8 signal is expected to stay in force for much of the day.
