ZHENG YIBING Xiong'an "This is Beijing West Railway Station. Today, a fast-speed intercity railway line opens here, linking Beijing with Xiong'an New Area, a new economic zone southwest of the Chinese capital in Hebei Province. Now, follow me, and get on board and try this very first ride."

"The line is 91 kilometers long. From today, up to 17 pairs of high-speed trains will be running on this line every day, carrying more than 600 passengers in a single trip."

"Their maximum speed is 300 kilometers per hour. That cuts the train journey to 50 minutes from almost 100. Like in all other fast-speed trains in China, the riding experience is quiet, smooth, and comfortable."

"Along the line, there are four major railway stations. One was opened a year ago at Beijing Daxing International Airport, one of the largest in the world. And the other three new stations now open to the public with a brand new image."

"We can take a glimpse of these stations from this Xiong'an Railway Station. This grand building has multiple floors to bring conveniences to travelers arriving or departing. Its design can absorb natural light and save a lot of energy."

"Intelligent facilities could be found everywhere in the stations. There is a smart system monitoring the conditions of major sections and devices. And electric tickets and scanning systems can help passengers enter and exit the platforms very quickly."

"This Intercity Railway is the first major transport facility connecting the Xiong'an New Area. It's hoped to support the construction of Xiong'an and coordinate the development of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei area. Zheng Yibing, CGTN, in Xiong'an, Hebei Province."
