In an exclusive interview with CGTN, Feng Shanshan reviewed her historic 2017 season.
After winning the trophy at the 2017 LPGA Blue Bay in China, Feng moved up to world No.1 for the first time in her career. She is the first golfer – male or female – from the Chinese mainland to top the rankings.

Feng said she told her fellow golfers, So Yeon Ryu and Inbee Park, two years ago that she would consider retiring if she reached the top ranking. When she achieved that title, both golfers texted her to ask: "Are you going to retire right now?" Feng's response? "I don't think so!"

Feng also shared her optimism for Chinese golf players. With two golfers competing in the PGA tournament and four in the LPGA, she remarked at how much development China had seen in the sport.
